Carlisle Bay Antigua Unveils First Phase of Renovation

0

Carlisle Bay Antigua, a leading luxury resort in the Caribbean, has launched the first phase of its multimillion-dollar renovation project. This major transformation will occur in stages and conclude by November 2027.

As part of The Leading Hotels of the World, the resort aims to enhance guest experiences while preserving its relaxed island charm. The first phase targets 55% of its 87 guest suites, including the Garden, Ocean, and Bay Suites. These rooms will receive complete makeovers during the resort’s seasonal closure and reopen in October 2025.

Located on Antigua’s southern coast, the resort wants to attract more travelers from the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. Tourism drives more than 60% of Antigua’s GDP, and Carlisle Bay’s upgrades are expected to increase revenue by over 20%. The project will also support local businesses and expand employment in the area.

Miminat Designs Blends Elegance with Island Heritage

The design overhaul is led by Miminat Shodeinde of London-based Miminat Designs. Her vision blends modern aesthetics with traditional Antiguan textures and tones.

The renovated Carlisle Bay Antigua suites will reflect calm sophistication through light, texture, and contrast. Guests will enjoy handcrafted finishes, earth-toned palettes, and organic materials. Every detail supports the resort’s commitment to laid-back luxury and Caribbean authenticity.

By bringing global design expertise to the island, Miminat ensures the suites highlight Antigua’s natural beauty. The new interiors will strengthen the resort’s identity and offer a deeper sense of connection to its surroundings.

Next Renovation Phases Focus on Dining, Spa, and More Suites

The second phase begins during the 2026 seasonal closure. That phase will upgrade the Beach Balcony Suites, Beach Terrace Suites, and Carlisle Suites. These renovations will complete the guest room segment of the transformation.

Following the suite renovations, CARA Organic Spa and the resort’s dining venues will enter a new design chapter. These updates will finish by late 2027 and are expected to enhance the overall guest experience.

Once completed, the resort will operate with refreshed infrastructure, a sharper brand identity, and more appeal to global travelers.
