Eisenhower D-Day Manor in Buckinghamshire Hits the Market for £11 Million

A historic Buckinghamshire estate once visited by President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Queen Elizabeth is now for sale, listed at £11 million (approx. $15 million). The 1,000-year-old Tudor-style manor, located in Marlow, served as a military hub during World War II and hosted key meetings that shaped the Allied D-Day landings.

The manor, now outfitted with a modern spa complex, mirrored bathrooms, and luxury amenities, is represented by Edward Sugden of Savills. Eisenhower reportedly met with General Bernard Montgomery inside the manor’s drawing room to coordinate battle plans. A hidden projector screen used during those briefings still exists in the home.

Before its military use, the manor was a private residence. After the war, the property also hosted Queen Elizabeth, who inspected troops from its expansive lawns. In the 1990s, the house was briefly owned by Mel B, also known as “Scary Spice” from the Spice Girls.

The current owners — a couple of entrepreneurs who held the property for 25 years — undertook extensive renovations. These included a glass-walled spa house with a full-sized pool, gym, steam room, sauna, and treatment room.

The manor’s seven bedrooms retain Elizabethan-era features, such as a 1642 oak staircase, visible beamed ceilings, and a Jacobean fireplace. Yet, there’s no shortage of modern flair: one bathroom on the ground floor features two opposing toilets, mirrored walls, and even disco balls.

Additional structures on the 8.9-acre property include a two-unit lodge, an orangery, tennis court, woodland play area, and a bridge leading to a private island. There’s even a dovecote and an English garden with fountains and outdoor dining areas.

While the listing is steeped in military and royal history, it now also showcases bold, contemporary design — making it a unique blend of heritage and modern luxury.
