The Marc Hotel will officially open in downtown Milwaukee in early 2026, transforming the west wing of the Hilton Milwaukee into a new independent 175-room property. Marcus Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality division of Marcus Corporation, announced that the opening will provide a modern yet historic nod to Milwaukee’s rich hotel legacy.
A Convenient Location for Travelers
The Marc Hotel will connect directly to the Baird Center, making it especially attractive for convention attendees. At the same time, its position in the heart of Milwaukee offers visitors easy access to the city’s cultural and business landmarks. Designed as a limited-service property, it will provide efficient, comfortable stays for both business and leisure travelers, balancing convenience with affordability.
A Name with Historic Roots
The Marc Hotel also pays homage to its past. The property first opened in 1928 as the Schroeder Hotel before Marcus Corporation purchased it in 1972 and rebranded it as the Marc Plaza Hotel. In 1995, the name transitioned to Hilton Milwaukee under Hilton Hotels. Many Milwaukee residents and travelers still remember the Marc Plaza, and the revival of the Marc name creates a meaningful link to local history.
