The legendary Johnny Carson Malibu estate has returned to the market, nearly two decades after the late-night host’s death. Listed at $110 million, the sprawling oceanfront property was Carson’s longtime residence on Point Dume.
Carson originally bought the four-parcel complex in the mid-1980s for $9.5 million. Following his passing in 2005, his widow sold it to billionaire Sidney Kimmel for $46 million. In 2019, venture capitalist Riaz Valani and his wife Augusta Tigrett acquired the estate in a quiet $40 million cash deal.
The estate, designed in the early 1980s by modernist architect Ed Niles, spans more than four acres split by a public road. The main two-bedroom, triangular-shaped residence sits on a cliff with panoramic ocean views. A gated driveway leads to a three-car garage, a motor court for up to 40 vehicles, and a guardhouse.
The three-story, 7,100-square-foot home opens into a striking atrium entry with mature trees. The living area boasts a 30-foot wood-and-glass ceiling, a sunken copper and glass fireplace, and access to a koi pond and ocean terrace. The dining space features a black marble-topped bar, while the kitchen offers a large island and butler’s pantry.
The top floor holds the primary suite with a fireplace, private balcony, dual offices, walk-in closets, and luxurious baths. The lower level contains a screening room, wine cellar, wet bar, and ocean-view terrace. Outdoor amenities include a saltwater pool with waterfall grotto, a spa, sauna, and cold plunge.
Across the street, the property features a full-sized tennis court and a 2,700-square-foot pavilion. This structure includes guest suites, a fireside lounge, full kitchen, and sauna-equipped locker room. Additional features include a guesthouse, greenhouse, fruit orchard, and aviary, rounding out the estate’s resort-like atmosphere.
