Judge Judy Lists Manhattan Penthouse for $8.5M After Price Cut
TV icon and former New York judge Judith Sheindlin, better known as Judge Judy, has lowered the price of her luxury Manhattan penthouse by $1 million. Originally listed in May 2024 for $9.5 million, the stunning Sutton Place property is now on the market for $8.5 million—the same amount Sheindlin reportedly paid when she bought it in 2013.
Located in one of Midtown Manhattan’s most exclusive neighborhoods, Sutton Place, the penthouse spans two expansive levels atop a 15-story Rosario Candela-designed building dating back to 1929.
Sheindlin, 82, said last year that she and her husband, Judge Jerry Sheindlin, were selling the home “to simplify” their lifestyle.
The residence offers both style and substance, with standout features like a wraparound terrace that boasts panoramic views of the East River and city skyline. The upper floor includes a spacious living room, a sun-drenched kitchen, a formal dining room, and a sophisticated wood-paneled library.
A semi-private elevator opens directly into the home, which is characterized by timeless design and elegant architectural details. A gracefully curved staircase—complete with its original wrought-iron balustrade—leads to the lower level, where all four bedrooms are situated.
The penthouse features four full bathrooms and two half-baths, with three bedrooms offering en-suite accommodations. The corner primary suite is a true retreat, providing privacy and comfort.
Listing agents Tom Postilio and Mickey Conlon of Compass described the property as “an oasis from the chaos typically associated with city living.” They noted its blend of classic charm and functional space as perfectly suited for Sutton Place’s refined reputation.
Building amenities include a full-time doorman, an on-site gym, and deeded private storage for each unit.
While Judge Judy has not commented further on the sale, her penthouse remains one of the most talked-about listings in the city’s luxury market.
